Well, today didn't go as planned. And that was good and bad. We had planned to head downtown to drop our bags at Kris Rogers' office and do a little sightseeing. Kris works for Google. When we got there Kris asked if we would like to come up, see the place and visit with Erin Mindell, a program manager in Google Education. Erin works to increase computer science education in schools and is a Topeka native. Needless to say, Erin and Patrick had a lot to talk about.
The NY Google offices is like stepping into a different world -- modern, playful, engaging, and entirely functional, all at the same time. Way cool. (Amy could see the CTE wheels a-spinning in PK's mind!) Unfortunately, no pictures were allowed.
We spent the rest of our time wandering around Chelsea (artsy area), including the Chelsea Market, walking the Highline, an elevated walk-way that used to be the rail service into the meatpacking district.
As we write this, we have been in limbo at JFK airport for a few hours as there've been a cluster of gate/scheduling issues. Any goodwill we had for Delta has dissipated. . .
